Cameras and Lenses - Purchasing Decisions

Q: Does this process work with any camera? How do I know if mine will work?
A:
We suggest that you use whatever camera you may own now (or borrow one). Go through ALL of our instructions with your existing camera.
If you run into a 'snag', consult with the camera manual (all of them are available on the internet).
If you find that your camera 'just won't cut it' then you may want to consider buying a new one,
with all of the money you will save from not having to hire a photographer.
We researched many camera models within a consumer level budget range. Surprisingly enough, most cameras on the market today contain the necessary features to achieve the results you are looking for!
The two main features that you are looking for are:
AV or 'Aperture Priority' mode - a MUST
The ability to over/under (the +/- button) expose by 2 or more 'stops' (EV) is also a must and is contained on every camera that we have researched. If you can afford a camera that can +/- by 3 or more stops (EV) then you will achieve the absolute best results from your shooting.
Here is a list of current camera models (in Canada) that we know will work for sure, if you follow all of our directions:
Point-&-Shoot Cameras – Panasonic 12MP (DMCZS5K), Fuji Finepix 12 MP (S1800)
SLR Cameras – Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1MP, Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18MP, Nikon D90 12.3MP, Canon 60D 18.1MP, Nikon D700
